IoW 2011; Day1. Good Journey, Good Speed

Today I started my regular trip to the Isle of Wight (IoW), leaving at around 09:30, I took a slow drive down to Southampton – taking the advice from a friend I slipped the cruise control on and locked it to about 57mph. I was surprised to discover that the MPG went up by such a degree. Typically 31.5mpg, the Mini average increased to 47.9mpg!

Stand up for your iPad and get it RIGHT!

I’ve been looking for stand/dock for my iPad for ages, I have four now!

So what’s my criteria?

  • Must still be usable with a case on the iPad
  • Relatively portable
  • Able to use in either orientation

If you have others let me know by the way…

So what have I tried already?

  • The Apple folding iPad case £31.95
  • The Griffin A-Frame £39.95
  • Twelve South Compass Stand for iPad £39.95
  • The Griffin Loop £24.95

Prices from the Apple store

They all vary in price as you can see, but how did they fit in with my criteria?

September – a change of pace…

The summer has all but passed, holidays in sunny climes distant memories, committed to the digital archives.

But what have we got to look forward to in the months ahead?

September announces the change of the seasons; from the hot summer months passing through to the winter months – a breather, a break, a time for nature to prepare itself for the winter months ahead.

Bristol day7: Say Goodbye

Once again it was time to go, with a tear in my eye I said goodbye to the amazing apartment located in the heart of the Harbourside complex. It’s true, a crap hotel, B&B or apartment can really spoil your whole holiday but this one only enhanced the whole experience.

Bristol day4: Steam-less and Bath

Today’s adventure went a little flat, I should have done my research first of course!

My first visit was to the Avon Valley Railway; a steam railway of course, but what I would have found out if I’d checked the timetable would be that there was no action today! A little disappointing to say the least, but my own fault – maybe next year.

With the extra time I now had I decided to head further East and onto Bath. I arrived about 2pm so there wasn’t much time to see everything so I went to find possibly the most most famous landmark; The Roman Baths.

Walked past this church (I think) at the junction of Northgate Street and Walcot Loop Street but can#t find out what its called…
