Saturday Post
Well, the summer block busters have arrived – 1st on the list is Harry Potter. I feel somewhat obliged to see the film as I’ve seen the past four, they suggest that this firm is even darker – lets hope it’s brilliance will shine through and it’s not lost in the depths of mediocrity.
At work, the week was uneventful – with enthusiasm taking a dive, pausing to wave at moral…
At home things were better, Mum has perked up a bit and seems a little more cheery. Yes, she still gets tired, but she is able to recover a lot quicker, she’s also been out of the house which is good…
Thought about the book, and I have some ideas now, although currently I’m thinking more about the looks rather than the content – need to get some outlines defined for the content rather than playing with the templates, fonts and styles!
Ok, thats different…
… was doing a search for "Urban Freeflow", and I found this on YouTube. Basically the guy has had serious injury to his knee and as he was a gymnast he decided to film a "day in the life" only doing handstands – I was impressed!
[edit] … as the comment says, Tim wasn’t a gymnast but into "breakdance and parkour", either way he’s very talented…
Sunday post
Well, Sunday again. I got fed up with my old Pantax camera when I was on holiday – I was replacing the batteries every day! So I bought myself a Samsung i70, I’ve been taking some pictures today so I’ll post them a bit later.
Really can’t believe the weather this weekend such a big change from ast week, it’s warm bright and comfortable it can stay like this for the rest of the year!
Sat post
Been quite a productive week I think – personally I guess. Spent my £500 credit note at Carphone Warehouse, an 80GB iPod, TomTom 6 for my Nokia, and x7 iTunes vouchers (£15 each)… Guess what people are getting for Xmas – hahaha…
Mum’s not doing so well, the results from her tests confirmed the heart was leaking due to high blood pressure. There are some pills that may help but the specialist that can perscribe them isn’t avaliable until September! We are currently looking for a light wheelchair that Dad can get in and out of the car.
My heart broke when she started to talk about how she might not be around for much more, but I did my best to reassure her, and not to talk silly. She is a very strong willed woman even now, and I’m hoping with our help she will pull through this low…
Sunday post
Just a short post today. thoughts go out to my Mum, who’s feeling under the weather today, for reasons I won’t go into at the moment.
Dean’s running 20k for charity today – more than likely finished by now… But well done.
Still thinking about my £500 credit note with Carphone Warehouse, not sure if I shouild buy some ebay-able items or hold out for a sim-free iPhone which I’m guessing will be out in Europe in a couple of months.
The week ahead is looming like a dark brewing storm, I don’t believe the stress or pressure will subside with the impending closure of LCB. Still I have the poker night to look forward to.
Saturday SB post
Glad its the weekend – I was really looking forward to this coffee, last week was a real b!tch…
Looking forward to next week – not because of work, but we are having another poker night on Wednesday, probably our last.
Been musing about my writings lately, I’ve done some fiction, real-life and now I’m thinking of doing some tutorials or a screen play maybe?
Still unsure about which platform to adopt, Mac or PC. The Mac is good for somethings, but tools and applications are limited – MS Office on the Mac is about 4 years old’ although I have heard that MS plan to release a new ’2007-ish version soon. I’m planning to upgrade to the lastest version of Adobe CS, but still not sure to go with either Mac or PC.
In news, the Apple iPhone has been released in the States with mixed results. Although the phone itself is quite unique, there are a lot of standard functions you would expect to see on a phone that are missing, such as;
- photo messaging (MMS) – web browsing, but you can’t dowload or save anything. – no cut/paste facilities – not 3G – limited ringtones (can’t use music either) – cannot remove battery, like iPod…
Oh well, perhaps they’ll sort out all the issues before it ships to Europe.
Saturday post
Once again a post from SB, at least I’m consistant! But this time its from the new SB within the main atrium in the Whitgift Centre – sweet.
Returned the Nokia e61i today to be told he won’t be offering an exchange – only a refund ( was a bit of a shock). Apparently he’s already had 3 of the six he’s sold returned due to problems – phew! So the search is on again for the elusive e61i…
Really glad the week is over, probably one of the worst weeks (for everyone) for a long time.
iPhone, ready or not.
Apple are releasing the iPhone in the States in a couple of days, expect to see it featured quite a lot in the news. It is very swish, and it really is very different to anything else on the market. It's true there are a few imitations such as the "Prada", and the new "HTC Touch" but it's only skin deep. The iPhone runs Apples OS X operating system – tweaked.
If you want to see the features check out this video, it's 20 minutes but I've watched it and it's very interesting.

it's the iPhone, yes it's new,
yes it's from Apple,
and yes I think it's great!
Shame it doesn't connect to
