Well, as you can see – they have had some fun in it I’m sure the workshop isn’t – what 4 miles away?
Bit of a shock getting the bill — was quoted £76 but got stitched for £170.30! Apparently after the re-gassing the AC didn’t work. They called me told me the AC didn’t work and I told them that it was working when it went in! – if not as cold as it should be. They said they would need to look at it for an hour and get back to me – I said "OK".. Apparently this was my authorisation for them to start billing me although there was no mention of charging or what the standard labour costs were.
They never called back, and to say I was surprised when they presented the final bill was an understatement. I was around waiting for 15 minutes while they found the paperwork, and ended up speaking to the "Service Manager" – who was quite cold and unsympathetic. I questioned him regarding the charges and he was passive and unmoving.
I requested that in future he got "Tony" the guy who called me to add just 3 words so this confusion never happened again – just to say "this is chargeable", then there would be no surprises and would prompt the owners to ask "how much". Not a lot to ask, but I don’t think it will happen — I guess I have been spoilt by Toyota dealerships.

This was the mileage this morning. They have called of back to say there is a problem with the ac – they will investigate further and call back.

Well I took the car for a test drive today — what fun! Got details for the car, and have already spoken with the orginal owner, the garages and the insurance people. Will be scheduling a visit by the RAC to check the car over with a fine toothcomb on Tuesday – time will tell.
