Bristol2011, day2. Aardman, The Stars & Water
It was a noisy night in the Millennium Square last light, as you can see in the photo below there was still plenty happening even late into the night.
Needless to say when did finally get up (lazy git) I was welcomed to a warm if not still a little breezy day.
Bristol2011; day1. Breezy Welcome
For my extended holiday I’ve travelled North(ish).. from Isle of Wight to favourite city Bristol! A city linked with so much innovation and history that it shook the world. First in may ways this week I hope to once again retrace some of the Victorian history that interests me so much.
The picture above shows the view from the apartment window in Harbourside, there you can see the masts from the SS Great Britain.
IoW2011; Day10. Sand & Sea
Guys, it’s my last day on the island so I thought I’d hang out in Sandown today; admittedly I didn’t leave the hotel until 11:30!
T’was a windy day on the beach…
IoW2011; Day9. Martin gets Adopted
There were times when I loathed windy mornings, I’d sit on the bench by the bay and continually fight with the newspaper as it flapped about like a huge sail. Now the worries are a thing of the past, the Kindle has no such problems and assuming its fully charged you can read till your hearts content in all conditions.
IoW2011; Day8. Steam, Rails & Sea
Liking the industrial age, I couldn’t resist the temptation of a ride on the steam train. so it was a trip down to Haven Street Station to have a look around and get the round trip on the train.
IoW2011; Day7. Castles, Clocks & Cowes
I think this is quite easily the best part of the day, its true the sunsets are equally awesome but the mornings before the visitors arrive can only be described as idyllic.
Last night was a bit of a drag; there was a party going on nearby until about 1:30am, at which point they all make their way to the beach and continued. Needless to say I think we all got some sleep eventually.
IoW2011; Day6. Baywatch, Newport & Cats
With the Easter holiday in full swing I was surprised to see a lot of activity in the bay this early in the morning.
A few yachts and surprisingly a pony having some water aerobics…
IoW2011; Day5. Always be prepared
The day started off well, yet another beautiful morning. I’d decided to try out the GoPro camera, I’d got myself a mount that screws into the tow hook on the front of the Mini.
IoW 2011; Day4. Birds, Blooms & Sunsets
Many of the shots today are from Seaview Wildlife Encounter. I hope you enjoy the portraits, check my notes for information;
IoW 2011; Day3. Jimi, Needles & Batteries
First stop for day 3, just down the road to Dimbola Lodge, always a favourite of mine. The exhibits are always enlightening, true classics along with some amazing works focusing on the Island itself.
… next off the the Needles.
