IoW Day4: Animal adventure
Today spent a lot of the day in the middle of the island; Arreton, Amazon World (just above Branstone), and Godshill.
Arreton & Godshill were mainly places to see (cough) local craft shops & wares – Arreton Barns did have a small Shipwreck Museum and an interesting collection of slot machines that brought back some memories of when I was a kid; but nothing really to write home about.
IoW Day3: Out and about.. .
Last night I trawled through the tourist guides to see if I could plan my island hopping a bit more; fat chance! but at least I have a list of places I want to visit.
First trip on my list was back to Yarmouth to visit the Tourist Information Centre;
I picked up a tourist parking permit; so I don’t have to deal with the pay & display’s any more.. also just missed one of the many pheasants that live on the island – phew!
IoW Day2: Around the Island
Day started off quiet chilled; breakfast and a couple of tweets to the guys. Read the Sunday papers in the lounge until 11am then checked out the Life Boat in the bay.
IoW Day1: The holiday begins
Started my 10 day break on the Isle of Wight, a small island off the South coast of the UK.
I’ll be posting a journal every day with musings and pictures. I’ll be using Microsoft Live Writer to compose the posts off-line and my Samsung i70 and of course my iPhone for the image content, I expect you’ll be able to tell which photo came from which device.. haha
IoW last day, return to mainland
Well its was Saturday morning and it was time to go home; my ferry back was at 16:30 so I packed and checked out spending some time in the Bay before going East bound.
IoW day7, flutterbye?
Its Friday, and my last full day on the Island (boooo!). Remember that apartment I was looking for someone to buy for me? Well no-one’s offered yet, but I thought I check with the estate agents all the same.
IoW day6, East Side
All the times I’ve been to the Isle and today I’m did three new things; visited The Museum of Island History, Flamingo Park and travelled on the Steam Railway.

I had to go through Newport to get to the Steam Railway, it was then I spotted the Museum of Island History; and more importantly a parking space!
IoW day5, West Wight
Spent my time on the west side of the island today; hence no posts – in fact I found a signal in one place; and then got a call from the office – thanks Mike.
First stop; 100 yards down the road at the Dimbola Lodge, home of Victorian Julia Margaret Cameron check out the links for more information;
IoW day4, Hot, hot, hot…
Well, here is a late post for day 4; the WIFI is a bit poor on the west side of the island, and there is no 3G so I cannot connect via my three USB dongle!
I woke not to sound of bikes, but the crash of the waves and brilliant sunshine coming through the crack in the curtains, already it was warming up in the room.
IoW day3, Picture perfect?
Not many posts today as there was limited connectivity in the middle of the island, but I took over 100 photos today here are some of the best;
This post is dedicated to Julie…
