In the afternoon I took a trip west to Tyntesfield, the gardens are fantastic, but I came to see the house. Originally a Regency-Gothic house with around 24 rooms the Gibbs family doubled the size of the building, applying a Gothic style through extensions and remodelling.

The Nation Trust now owns the estate and is actively restoring the building and its contents. The scaffolding that covers the entire house is a sight to see, an amazing construction.

… the protective shell is being removed at the end of the year, it will certainly be worth a visit to see the house in its full glory…
