Today I was retracing some steps form earlier on in the year…
… Millennium Square…
… over Pero’s Bridge and a quick scoot around the Arnofini Gallery across the bridge at Price Street and along the quay side towards the SS Great Britain. En route I just had to take some pictures of those fantastic quay side cranes…
… walking along to SS Great Britain…
… is that Brunel?
In the afternoon I took a trip west to Tyntesfield, the gardens are fantastic, but I came to see the house. Originally a Regency-Gothic house with around 24 rooms the Gibbs family doubled the size of the building, applying a Gothic style through extensions and remodelling.
The Nation Trust now owns the estate and is actively restoring the building and its contents. The scaffolding that covers the entire house is a sight to see, an amazing construction.
… the protective shell is being removed at the end of the year, it will certainly be worth a visit to see the house in its full glory…
… inside most of the ground and first floors have been restored, or in the process of being restored.
… the may many bells, one for each principle room.
