You can re-download previously purchased items (be it music, apps, etc.) only once, and you have to re-purchase it afterwards. The bandwidth usage will be massive if everyone started listening to their music from their servers. It could work, obviously, but I'm not sure if Apple wants to jump in that business just yet. Again, looking at MobileMe for reference, I'm expecting high price tags to come with this service, if it ever comes. Right now you can only re-download purchased content once without paying, so making the jump from that to free streaming even, I doubt it.. Unless they make it part of MobileMe, and up the storage space, of course. But with the current mere 20GB, I'm not very hopeful on that reaching anything useful.
