… and caught the metro. Arrived at walked to Eiffel Tower; got some great pictures it’s an amazing structure built to celebrate the turn of the century in the 1900’s and its still as strong as ever.

Check out the rails on the lift, once up one of the four legs the angle of the assent changes – very clever.

Upon leaving the Eiffel Tower, I jumped into a taxi to get a coach trip to Versailles… After another 2 hours of walking around the State Apartments, the famous Hall of Mirrors and the many galleries. After a 2 hour walk around the palace, there was just time to grab a couple of pictures of the gardens. Just to give you some idea of its size; the surface area of the roofing is 11 hectares, 51,210 sq.m of floor space, 2,153 windows, 700 rooms – and that’s just the buildings!

Thankfully I had a rest on the coach – again we passed the Eiffel Tower…

After leaving Versailles, I went to to Musee d’Orsay – once a grand station now a museum – it now holds a number of famous pieces of art. After a 2 hour walk around the museum (it was bigger than I thought!) I left about 8:30pm.

After walking around the area aimlessly looking for a metro station or a taxi I stumbled upon the Concorde – and a metro. Made it back to the hotel about 9:30pm – knackered!

Is the Picasso picture a little blurry because you were taking it sneakily, or does the Museum have a policy where they let people take pictures of the art?

LOL, no – just a shaky hand; it had been a long day I can assure you.
