IoW Day4: Animal adventure

Today spent a lot of the day in the middle of the island; Arreton, Amazon World (just above Branstone), and Godshill.

Arreton & Godshill were mainly places to see (cough) local craft shops & wares – Arreton Barns did have a small Shipwreck Museum and an interesting collection of slot machines that brought back some memories of when I was a kid; but nothing really to write home about.

From Arreton, I went a couple of miles down the road to one of my favourite attractions; Amazon World. The blurb tells us “Amazon World Zoo Park is a special kind of attraction. Here you can learn about conservation and rainforests and come face to face with some of the worlds most unusual, beautiful and endangered creatures”, I agree it has some exciting and unusual animals, and a couple of ocelot cubs new this year by the looks of them.

After saying goodbye to the animals (like being in the office again!), I continued a bit further to Godshill – a charming little village chocked with gift shops, gardens and tea rooms – stopped for a slice of hot apple pie & custard before returning back to the hotel.
