Started my 10 day break on the Isle of Wight, a small island off the South coast of the UK.
I’ll be posting a journal every day with musings and pictures. I’ll be using Microsoft Live Writer to compose the posts off-line and my Samsung i70 and of course my iPhone for the image content, I expect you’ll be able to tell which photo came from which device.. haha
Would appreciate any comments especially on the pictures if you have the time.
I started off with 64,000 miles on the clock of the Beetle, quite a milestone. I’d changed the ferry time to 16:00 as I was convinced by a work colleague that the traffic would be busy on the way down. I left the house at about 11:30, stopped at two service areas (1hr each) on the M3 and still got there for 15:30!
The crossing was quick (just under an hour), the sky was clean – but it was damn windy!
There wasn’t a lot of people on the sun deck and those that braved the wind really had to hang on!
Check out the angle of the sail boat on the left.
Settled into the hotel at Freshwater Bay, the picture below was taken in 20:30 – impressed with the picture.
The islands “hotspot” works well, there is an access point on one of the hills on the West side of the Island which supports local users, there is sadly no 3G on this side of the island.
