Well for those who don’t know, Mum was rushed to St. Georges on Thu as soon as I got home. She was fine in the morning but after lunch I was told she started shaking for 2hrs and her temp went up.
We called an ambulance and by 7pm she was in A&E. Shortly after she was moved to Resuscitation next door for close monitoring.
Around 3am she was moved to ICU where she had a dedicated nurse monitoring her, this continued through Fri and the weekend. During our 10hr stay at the hospital we had a number of those "chats" in a quiet room with doctors preparing us, her blood pressure was half of what it should be, very upsetting. Anyone knowing my mum knows she is a fighter, and she has now stabilised and a lot of the intrusive monitoring removed. She looks and acts a lot more normal than when we took her in.
The believe its pneumonia which isn’t good in normal person but when you have a damaged heart it works it even harder. Still they believe she is well enough to be moved to a regular ward on Monday.
