Should I get sponsored?

I think Starbucks should sponsor me, most of my post emerge from behind a SB cup…

Of course they have a Starbucks card that you can use instead of cash, charge it up like a phone card and use it at the till; sadly it has no benefits over cash. Now what would be really cool would be a way for you; my readers to click on a link and charge my card up (if you wanted to) – sadly SB’s haven’t cottoned onto this additonal yet.

Just a rest stop

Well, 1st week is done – had some problems with the servers but I think I got it nailed now.

I’ve not posted a picture of my latte as the tables haven’t been cleaned so it won’t make a nice picture; but I’m sure you get the idea.

Fortress of solitude

Hey guys, welcome to my new home for the next 3 weeks; I lovingly call it "The Fortress of Solitude" – I’m locked in, its very small, very cold, and very noisy!

Calm before the storm

Last day of my holiday, and the 1st day out in the past 3 days – does that make sense?

Well, I think I may have another idea for my novel/screen play just need to develop it a bit now.

Its all coming to me today, just remembered a niche market that I could open which is just waiting to be mastered.

At work I return to a 25 day assignment for C&FI to build thier new environment, 3 weeks of isolation in the bridge room – better take some speakers for my iPod.

Wednesday Post

Nothing interesting to report today; took the cat to the vets yesterday to get her claws clipped, thats about it.

The ACM site is awaiting a domain transfer before I can really start to kuckle down with the development, so a bit of a loose end really.

May go out tomorrow, not sure the coast is quite ready for a visit yet, rain has been forecast for the next few days. Maybe Bluewater, and catch a movie – lets see what happens.

Monday

He had gotten up late enjoying the luxury of not having to go to work; even so he couldn’t resist the draw of checking his email. Reaching to the cabinet he picked up the iPod and powered it on, as he typed in the pin he wondered how such a small device had made such a big impact on his routine. The large display was bright and clear, instantly connecting to his wireless network. Moments later his email was available for his review. He put down the device and thought maybe Joel was right, was he really that dependent on the net that he needed stimulation all the time? Certainly when he was at home. As it happened a lot of the email was junk interspersed with a number of jokes from a good friend. Putting the device down he turned over satisfied with his fix; he reassured himself that this obsession wasn’t as bad as smoking but it did follow a parallel path.

Hours later, he was following his other obsession Starbucks – sitting in Sutton he ordered his usual Hazelnut Latte and some toast, the cashier fumbled with the order. Already the arrival of his Latte had been announced at the end of the counter and yet the toast was still on display; jabbing at the sultana laden bread through the glass she finally identified my order before putting it to rest in the toaster. He thought that was it, but his torture wasn’t over. A buzzer went off and she returned to the toaster retrieving the bread from the device, a paper bag its destination. "Butter?" he enquired, a smile and a lot of searching continued. After a while she returned with three butter slabs and two jam tubs, thanked her and returned the jams and kept just two slabs. They looked at each other again "knife please", and she was off again – he sighed under my breath. He paid and went to collect his latte, it was gone someone else took it by mistake – inside he was screaming. In the end he got abandoned latte with a couple of squirts of syrup; it was done.

He settled into a seat outside; true it was cold but was to warm inside. The kids from the local schools had been released, and he started another blog entry trying to block out the screams and shouts from collection of girls behind him; where as the guys sitting in front of him were a much sociable volume level greeting each other with slaps, high 5′s and hugs.

He checked his toast and picked up the slabs of butter, they were frozen; like stone – he knew the toast wouldn’t survive the application so he worked his way through the toast dry. The sweet fruit in the toast provided the only taste required; easily his favourite.

It was getting cold, so he wound up his blog entry stopping only occasionally to sip on his adopted latte – he smiled happy with the entry and clicked on "send"…

Free Latte and toast for me today! Yes, SB recognised mu commitment and has treated me to a fancy Latte with cream.

Luxury Fruit Toast smells yum, but the butter is hard so I’m warming it – sweet!

I’m on holiday next week, so plan to do some travelling – Beetle permitting.. No fixed plans, although the ACM project hase been agreed I will be putting some time into that.

The hardware refresh at work has been confirmed so I’ll start that on my return on the 25th.

Catch you later, my toast is getting cold..

Weekend SB

Another Sunday, another Latte.

Finally got around to replacing the rear tyres on the Beetle on Thu. Jeez last week really took it out of me; worked late on Wed and Thu finishing work a 2am and 6am – gah!

Next week is the last before my holiday; just time off no plans as yet – but who can tell what will happen?

Finally got the Vista recovery DVD’s from Sony so my new carbon fibre laptop is ready to go – just need to get used to Vista now; it’s just like a needy child always demanding attention…

Sunday Post

Needed to get out for a couple of hours; it looked nice and warm – as confirmed looks can be decieving.

The ACM design is coming along nicely; navigation looks fine (in this draft), I think I’ve found a good CMS that is simple to use and might be suitable for future roll outs.

Sutton is closing for the day, its getting quiet and the shops are closing.
