Another bleak day here on on the coast, with intermittent showers – thankfully only brief.
The Model Village in Godshill was a new attraction for my today, located in a more central area I was hoping it would be a bit sheltered from the weather. The village itself is basically a collection of giftshops and cafe/restaurants it consists of about 15 buildings of serveral types; vicarage (where the model village was), coach house, pub and a small hotel. An interesting location; just wonder if the whole village closes at the end of the season?!
Anyhow; below are some pictures of the model village – can you tell which are models and which are real buildings?
… clever huh?
The afternoon I decided to visit the Amazon; not the bookstore but a tropical environment hosting lots of animals, the birds flew around within the huge buildings; below is the only picture I took – the battery in my camera decided to expire!
Late afternoon popped into Ventnor on the south coast; it was the first time I had stopped to look around the town centre. I had hoped to visit the local gallery “Wight Light”, but it was closed – I’ll give it another try tomorrow altough this time I’ll use the free packing!
