IoW2, day3

A relatively uneventful day today; the weather was overcast and very windy – surprisingly from the north going out to sea. Anyway needless to say I needed a hoodie, and I was definitely NOT wearing my shorts today!

Returned to Sandown today to check out the “Dinosaur Land”, immediately I entered the exhibition I realised that like the dinosaurs I was way, way too old. The museum was aimed at schools and the kids to be honest, but hey I found it interesting.

I made my way down the beach walking back towards the pier – there was a art shop I wanted to check out that that closed yesterday; funnily enough it was called “Keats”. It was filled with small prints and watercolours from local artists depicting IoW beauty spots, sadly Freshwater only featured in two prints – both sadly didn’t inspire me.

Mind you I did find an interesting curio in one of the shops; PC to the extreme I would say – it’s a little bit of history for goodness sake!

I walked back to the car, and visited Currys on the way back to the hotel to return the iPod alarm clock, did what it said on the box but the backlight for the clock was *SO* bright it lit the room! I picked up another model again, but it’s really just as bad, it relies on the iPod for the display and in the latest 5G model the clock display shows an analogue face about the size of a penny – not very useful at 3am!

Back at the hotel we had a little bit of excitement; both lifeboats were out at sea, and then a Sea Kign helecopter arrived, and was hovering around the cliffs for a good 20 minutes.

Both the lifeboats returned about 9:30pm…
