Mum’s fall: Update #1
Left the hospital at 2am this morning; she had x-rays on her chest which showed no damage; a couple of hours later she went for a ct scan to check her head/brain was OK, basically to check to see if there was any internal bleeding in her head, thankfully there were no problems there either.
Once we had the thumbs up from the doctors, we said our good-byes and left to get some sleep. This morning Dad called and found out that she had a good nights sleep, and was sitting up having some breakfast.
Feeling a lot happier now, and each doctor/nurse/ambulance driver said she should of gone to the hospital the day she fell. I blame myself for not being more forceful and making her go – but she can be very strong willed at times..
Mum off to hospital…
Mum’s not been well lately, suffering from heat exhaustion, a minor infection and low sugar levels (diagnosed on Sunday be a doctors visit), she hada tumble down stairs on Monday evening – thankfully nothing was broken initially only a couple of cuts on her nose and forehead. I really should of pushed for an ambulance then, but she spends a lot of time in hospitals, and really didn’t want to go.
On Tuesday the bruses were a lot more visiable, across the left hand side of her forhead and around her eye, very much like a black eye, still shaken I have now been told she has dizzy spells. In the evening it was much the same – I know she does a lot to hide problems and illnesses from me, but this was obvious.
Today; Wednesday she wasn’t able to get out of bed, her face was dark and crimson on the left hand side and was now visable around her right eye. Brusing down her left arm (inital impact I guess), and apparently all over her back. The Doctor was called at 9am, and arrived about 3~4pm, and requested an ambulance after checks. Unbeknown to me this was classified as a low priority, and we were told at 6:20 that it could be 2~3 hours until an ambulance would arrive. Poor Mum had been waiting downstairs for it to arrive, for at least an hour – which didn’t help the serious pain she was experiencing in her head.
The Ambulance arrived at about 7:15pm both the guys were very professional and courtious, was told that I should of called 999 after her fall, he had concerns over the amount of bruising considering my Mum took Warfarin to thin her blood after her open heart surgery.
Anyhow, they got her into the ambulance and she’s off to St. Georges with my Dad. I’m going over there soon to catch up and bring my Dad back (expecting Mum to be there for a couple of days).
Superman the Movie – how it should have ended..
Link: The Official How It Should Have Ended Website.
The new cartoon is up. Now i can die. Before i collapse or lose complete feeling in my arm, let me just say to all the batman fans out there, "i don’t hate batman" Superman and Batman are my favorites, that’s why they are both in the short. So, know that the batman jokes are done with love.
My Super Ex-Girlfriend
Synopsis: Unlucky in love Matt Saunders (Luke Wilson) thinks he’s finally found the perfect woman in the shape of the beautiful Jenny Johnson (Uma Thurman). The only trouble is, Jenny also happens to be a superhero called G-Girl. When the couple’s relationship eventually hits the rocks and Matt decides to call it a day, he soon discovers that there are few things worse than a superhero scorned.
Conclusion: Yes, its a funny movie – some sexually explicit visual jokes (kids beware) and perfectly timed for the Superman release. Effects good, humor good, yada, yada, yada – has it’s highs and lows, towards the end I was looking at my watch, never a good sign.. Wait for it to come out on DVD.
Segway Centaur Video Demo
Link: Gizmodo, The Gadget Guide.
The Segway Centaur is the newer, younger brother of the Segway that just about nobody—unless you’re Steve Wozniak or a Chicago beat cop—is riding. This four-wheeled Segway looks more stable than the previous one, even when it’s up on its hind wheels. The Centaur features a seat, handlebars, and the same type of engineering that went into the commercially unpopular Segway.
We have to say, it looks like it goes pretty fast and could be fun to ride. No chance at all seeing this on city sidewalks (maybe bike lanes?) though. Just a concept for now, so we probably won’t be seeing this for a few years at least. – Jason Chen
