G-Drive launch imminent?
Link: .: UNEASYsilence :..
Google is expected to offer “infinite” storage to anyone with a Google Account worldwide. Accidentally leaked on the Google website illustrates Google plans to offer a service, most likely named “GDrive” to allow users who would have the option to upload word documents, e-mails, web history and photos to the search giant’s servers online.
“The online copy of your data will become your Golden Copy,” the leaked documents confirmed. Presumably, users will be able to access their files anywhere across the globe, assuming there’s an active Internet connection, and save the original copies as backup files."
It seems that Google is not positioning themselves to be the next Box.net. There are plans to possibly restrict or limit the file types that can be uploaded to your “GDrive” account. Read More
Bird in hand, or in the grill?
A sparrow may of come to an untimely end on my way to the cinema – I was travelling swiftly through the industrial estate with a zzr750 microns from my rear bumper and a sparrow swooped down (as they do) in front of the car…
Two choices
1. Break, swerve and miss the bird, possibly taking out the biker behind me.
2. Continue, without slowing or swearving…
There was a dull thud, but the biker behind was ok (I took the 2. option).
Checked the front of the car on arriving at the cinema half expecting to find the headless body of a bird stuck on the front of the car like some kind of sick hood orniment – there was nothing, or any trace of damage..
6/10 must try harder…
Out of my tree and ‘Over The Hedge’
Yes, the worldcup has started and I’ve decided to watch a movie at the cinema – I’m getting worldcup updates via text messages though..
Synopsis: Traveling raccoon con artist, RJ (Willis), arrives in a woods outside a human city in the Midwest, excited about the wonders that living near humans can bring hungry animals. What he finds, however, is an Amish-like community that is deathly afraid of humans, after their leader, Vern the tortoise (Shandling), has an encounter with human boys that terrifies him. Encouraged by RJ, however, the animals slowly venture over the hedge that separates them from the brand new suburban development that appeared over the winter while they were sleeping, and what RJ shows them is a whole new world where humans leave tin cans full of fish and other food in big canisters, ripe for the taking. As they get closer and closer to humans, however, their comfortable lives in the woods appears to be threatened…
Conclusion: Yes, its another DreamWorks creation – following the lines of all the others, good for kids, interesting characters (almost) – Ok, it worked for Shriek, lets think of something new now shall we?

Saturday post…

Phew, what a scorcher – and typically I think the ac in the car has failed.. I was expecting it, Driftbridge VW broke the magneto when it went in for a service last year, they noted on the bill that it may need replacing after they tried to fix it (it was working when it went into the garage).
Anyhow, got some bit’s and pieces nu shooz, couple of cd’s and a few mags…
Lets hope it doesn’t get too much hotter before I get the ac fixed…
