Yeah!

Yeah!

Oh great, main supply to lights and ac have failed, we powered down non essential equipment and have a portable ac unit running. It reached 43 degrees in the computer room even with all the cabinets and door open (need to stay outside and protect the environment) – Dean has now arrived to take over, so I’m getting something to eat now..

Alien Autopsy – the MOVIE (2006)

Alienautopsy

Synopsis: Back in 1995, Ray Santilli and Gary Shoefield unveiled footage that purported to show the dissection of an extra-terrestrial. Of course the film – which, these two friends from Hackney claimed, was shot by the US military in 1947 – was as fake as a three-quid note, but for a time it was jumped on by media outlets everywhere as ‘proof’ of alien existence. ‘Alien Autopsy’ plays this real-life hoax for laughs, depicting Ray and Gary as a couple of chancers straight out of ‘Only Fools and Horses’. ITV1’s Ant and Dec make a credible big-screen debut as the pair, essentially shoehorning their affable light-entertainment selves into the lead roles. They, and we, have most fun during the fake autopsy shoot, a beautifully deadpan sequence in a cramped suburban living room involving a modified shop dummy with a haggis for a brain and biscuit breaks for the crew provided by Gary’s nan. If the sitcom-style approach feels contrived – were the media really all that gullible? – this is still a likeable, wry little movie. Besides, the real-life Ray and Gary are hardly ones to complain about factual accuracy.

Conclusion: What a wheeze, filmed in the style of a documentary the story slowly reveals how Gary Shoefield and Ray Santilli came across the autopsy film while searching for Elvis memorabilia in the US. As the tail unfolds it becomes more and more unbelieveable ~ what really is amazing are the two guys who introduce themselves at the end of the movie.. yes the real Gary Shoefield and Ray Santilli are the directors of the film.

Coffee time

Here we are again – decided on a Costa today sitting outside in the chilly, but sunny Sutton High St

Last week wasn’t too bad, although I think the week ahead could be more stressful – with Chris on holiday for the week I’m in charge sorting out issues with clients and dealing with resource requests. Some more of TfL’s site is going live next week which can be less than smooth at times ~ hopefully it will be uneventful.

Going to see a couple of films tomorrow, for once the scheduling worked in my favour… Ice Age 2 then Alien Autopsy – will let you know what I think..
