Today’s movie, ZUTHURA.

Synopsis: In this spectacular new fantasy adventure, two brothers stumble across a mysterious board game in their basement. The pair unpack it and start to play, little realising that they are about to be thrust into the outer reaches of space. Once there, they befriend a stranded astronaut and encounter giant aliens and an out-of-control robot. The pair also become embroiled in a dramatic space battle before facing their greatest challenge yet – finding a way home.

Conclusion: Ok, take the script from Jumanji, block search/replace Jumanji for ZUTHURA. Keep the story, replace animals with robots and aliens – Bingo! Even saying all that I enjoyed the movie (I liked Jumanji as well). If you area big kid then you will will enjoy the movie just as I did. It’s good clean fun with no nasty surprises – see it, it’s your choice!

Last time I buy any food from the cinema, Regular Nachos and Small Fanta = £5.65, or Regular Nachos and Regular Fanta (combo) for £5.30 — STILL A RIPOFF! Jeez, I’d had to see the small Nachos….

Synopsis: ‘Jarhead’ follows the journey of Anthony Swofford, a third generation enlistee who signs up for the marines on the eve of the Gulf War. Swofford’s journey involves his attending boot camp, joining the well respected sniper squadron and being sent out to Iraq to take part in Operation Desert Shield. Once there, combat seems like a distant dream to the men, and instead boredom, frustration and anger slowly set in. The result is a war movie unlike any you’ve ever seen – a blackly comic vision of what life is really like in the trenches.

Conclusion: Well, yet another American war movie – yada, yada, yada. The Nachos were marginally more interesting.

Synopsis: The ‘Underworld’ saga continues as war is waged between the Death Dealers and the Lycan forces. Meanwhile Michael, a Lycan werewolf hybrid, and Selene, a vampire warrior, join forces productively in order to find the truth of their origins. The immortals engage in slaying each other in amazing action sequences as Selene and Michael pursue their forbidden histories, all the while engaging in a forbidden love affair with each other. As stylized and convention breaking as the ultra-cool original, this eagerly awaited sequel stands as a film in its own right.

Conclusion: Good start – a recap of what happened in the pervious film, plus a little more insight into evreyones history. The movie itself is excellent, if you enjoyed the first one see this one you won’t be disappointed.

The return of Mum!

Good news, Mum was sent home from the hospital today. They had "bungs" up her nose to stop the bleeding, and today they quaterised the problem area in the nose.

She’s still a bit shaky, I’m guessing that she is still a little weak with all the loss of blood over the past couple of days.

Fingers crossed she’ll be ok from now on…
