It’s weekend, and time for a brain dump!
Been a busy week, regular readers will know that thw DB servers got patched on Wednesday morning (00:00hrs) – to say I was tired during the day was an understatement, it’s strange how only a subtle change in you bodys sleep cycle can cause such impact in following days.
Heard that the team I work in is going to go through some changes – I don’t think everyone will be happy with the new structure.. More later when it’s been officially announced.
The DR test in the Docklands was a success, and I’m really proud of the team members I’m responsible for they did a great job, and beat last years record by almost a day.
Having some grief with my iPod and Windows Explorer. I use Media Player rather than iTunes as it manages playlists better, updating them even if other programs are dumping media into the monitored folders. I’ve been using Xplay2 which works great, effectivily allowing Windows applications see the music stored on the iPod, it also allows you to sync the iPod with Media Play – perfect for tunes or Podcasts. The only problem is it’s very unstable – seems to crash Explorer, or hog the resources making the machine almost unuseable. This is a big shame as the product itself does all I want – if a little showly, but I cannot except that unstable interface. I’m still looking for alternatives at the moment.
Talking about Podcasts, I’v been chatting with Mike D. (my daily commute) and "Wired Dude" (same named show) I’m really enjoying their shows, generally listening on either my iPod or my Tablet pc. I think I would like too try it out myself, but not sure if I have a lot to say or if it would be interesting..
I’m currently using "iPodder" to download my podcasts, but I’ve also discovered "FeedDemon" which aggragates RSS feeds as well as managing Podcast feeds, I’ll let you know how I get on.
Got a bit of a Geek corner going on here at Starbucks, there is a guy next to me reading a book I think on his iPaq.. Cool
Anyhow, the day is still young and my hazelnut latte is getting cold – so I’m signing off for the time being..
